Light:
Monstera dubia prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some gentle morning sun but should be kept out of direct, harsh light to prevent leaf burn. Insufficient light can slow its growth and reduce variegation.
Watering:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep the soil lightly moist during the growing season, but avoid letting it become soggy. Reduce watering in the cooler months, allowing the soil to dry out slightly more between waterings.
Soil and repotting:
Use a well-draining, airy potting mix with components like coco coir, perlite, and bark to support healthy root growth. Repot every 1–2 years or when roots become crowded, ideally in spring. Providing a support like a moss pole encourages natural shingling growth.
